Eurogamer - Dishonored: The Brigmore Witches Review

EG:This is no hastily prepared footnote to the Dishonored myth. The Brigmore Witches is not only as textured as the game upon which it builds, with lavish scenery and elaborate set designs that communicate a weighty sense of place. But it's also as layered, with smart, meaningful tweaks and additions to your interactive toolset, and multiple branching routes to your objectives. There are curious, idiosyncratic side missions that run concurrently to your main quest (in one, you must recreate Granny Rags' wedding by bringing a bride, a groom and a ring to fashion a diorama). And, in contrast to the main Dishonored storyline, at last there's a clear, frightening and powerful antagonist. Larger and tricate than The Knife of Dunwall, The Brigmore Witches emerges as one of the finest examples of how to not only expand a blockbuster video game, but also of how to enrich and deepen one.

This week on PSN, the story of Daud -- the legendary assassin behind the death of Dunwall’s beloved Empress, Jessamine Kaldwin -- concludes in Dishonored’s final add-on: The Brigmore Witches. Having been betrayed by your top lieutenant, Billie Lurk, in The Knife of Dunwall, you’ll need to rely on two rival gangs -- the Dead Eels and the Hatters -- in order to make your way to Brigmore Mansion to confront The Brigmore Witches’ main antagonist, Delilah.

Chad from We Got This Covered wrote: It took some time, but last years stealth-filled gem, Dishonored, finally received its first piece of promised story-based downloadable content this past April. Referred to in title cards as The Knife of Dunwall, the three to four hour-long expansion showed us a different side of the games world, as it focused solely on Daud, the assassin who framed the main campaigns protagonist, by killing his guarded Empress and then vanishing into thin air. As the first part of a presumed two-part episode, it ended a tad abruptly, leaving questions in the minds of those of us who made the switch from the mask of a hero to the mask of a seemingly evil man.
